Craftsman-style Bungalow–Louisville, KY
This project was the one that brought Tate back home to Louisville. It was a collaboration with his client that helped to create a home away from home for them. From the two-phase renovation to the personal selection of all elements, Tate worked closely with his client to create a curiosity of textiles, furniture, and accessories that make this home so unique and personal.
Tate’s client, who permanently lives in Chicago, wanted this to be a retreat away from the hustle and bustle of a larger city. It was an opportunity to make the serene space also feel like a modern take on traditional decor, as Tate incorporated many antiques and heirlooms that had been passed down from the client’s grandmother and mother. The mixture of modern materials and luxurious textiles helps create the story of the person who lives in the space – something Tate always tries to do in each project.
The rugs, lighting, and accessories helped round out this beautiful renovated home. From antique rugs to handmade furniture from West Virginia, this house has a little bit of nostalgia mixed in with contemporary silhouettes and colors.
