Glenview Poolhouse - Louisville, KY
The addition of a one bedroom guest house to a charming Tudor Home with a pool prompted Tate to collaborate with a local builder to ensure continuity between the home and its new poolhouse. Tate imbued this new space with an abundance of light, thoughtful architectural detail, as well as a plethora of texture and color through the use of wall coverings and textiles throughout.
The spacious terrace outside the pool house features a wood plank ceiling with built-in heaters and a fireplace. French doors connect the kitchen, living, and game rooms, while a vaulted ceiling with exposed beams enhances the open and airy feeling of this special guest house. Designed with a subtle Provençal theme inspired by the homeowner’s lavender garden, the space avoids the typical beachy aesthetic, offering a more refined and inviting atmosphere.
